Premier Division

Sheffield Collegiate maintained their 24-point advantage at the top of the table when they beat third-placed Cawthorne at Dark Lane. Openers Jack Timby (52) and Abdul Faseeh (123 off 109 balls) provided the base for the visitors 276-8 after they were put in to bat, whilst Liam Wiles took 5-77; George Booth made 54 when the home side replied, but Henry Eldred took 4-31 and they were all out for 223. Muhammad Amir’s best return of the season, 7-40, helped Cleethorpes bowl Wickersley Old Village out for 150 after asking them to bat first at Chichester Road; the visitors then made Cleethorpes work for their win, and they were grateful for Amir’s 42, that helped them to a two-wicket win. Jawad Akhtar made 59 in Wakefield Thornes’ 202 all out after they were put in to bat at home by Tickhill; then Sam Wisniewski took 5-64 to help Thornes restrict their visitors to 189-9 in reply, Bilal Anjam top-scoring with 53. Taylor Fell made 61 in Doncaster Town’s 165 all out at Baxter Field, then Matt Cartwright (58) and Nathan Swift (48) got Whitley Hall off to a good start with an opening stand of 114 in reply, and they completed a four-wicket win with four overs to spare. Forties from Louis Richardson and Joe Toole helped Sprotbrough post 238-9 at home to Appleby Frodingham; but then Paras Ratnaparkhe (99 not out) and Drew Silvester (51 not out) helped the Steelmen complete a six-wicket win. Bottom side Hallam pulled off only their second win of the season, against Whiston Parish Church at Church Fields. Bhargav Merai made 55 in the home side’s 233-7; then Andre Bradford (68) and Arjith Ravi (60 not out) were the main contributors when Hallam gained an invaluable one-wicket win.

Championship Division

Ackworth now lead the division by 18 points, following their three-wicket win over Tickhill 2nds, whom they bowled out for 128 after putting them in to bat at the Brookfield Oval, Dale Longfield taking 5-25; Jerome Bossr (49) then led the visitors to victory. Josh Coulson made an unbeaten 45 when Aston Hall made 202-9 at home to second-placed Barnsley Woolley Miners, for whom skipper Boeta Beukes took 4-46; then Adam Clarke took 4-45 when the visitors were bowled out for 172 in reply. Bilal Imtiaz (74), Curtley Louw (92) and Arsalan Mir (56) were in the runs in Elsecar’s 275-8 at home to Coal Aston; then Musa Altaf took 4-63 when the visitors were restricted to 223-7 in reply. Haris Khan made 53 in Shiregreen’s 277-6 after they were put in to bat at home to Rockingham Colliery, who were bowled out for 100 in reply, Muhammad Rameez taking 5-17. Habil Arshad (51) and Samuel Thomposon (55) helped Upper Haugh recover from 66-5 to post 199 all out against Sheffield Collegiate 2nds at Abbeydale, Matt Tyas taking 4-47 for the home side, who were then bowled out for 113 in reply, Parvez Asghar returning 7-34. Doncaster Town 2nds made 197-9 at home to Oughtibridge War Memorial, for whom Vikas Dixit took 4-34; Michael Brown made 64 when the visitors replied, but Oscar Jones took 4-40 and they were all out for 171.

Division 1

The two leading clubs now have 38 points separating them from the rest of the division. Leaders Warmsworth bowled Frickley Colliery out for 121 with Kyle Humphrys taking 5-48, and they chased down their target for the loss of four wickets in the 29th over. Wath, two points behind the leaders, had an even more straightforward win after Jay Smith (5-46) and Hussnain Hussain (5-37) had bowled Cawthorne 2nds out for 90 at Moor Road; then Jason van Dyk then hit an unbeaten 61 in their nine-wicket win. Skipper Sam Chatteton hit 96 for third-placed Whitley Hall 2nds in their 223 all out away to the club who were just above them, Conisbrough; Aaron Lowe took 4-9 for the hosts and in their reply, Travis Cresswell hit 88 off 51 balls to rescue them from a poor start, but they fell just short on 220 all out. The experienced pair of Steve Foster (54) and Gareth Davis (46) gave Treeton a good start with an opening stand of 89 and they reached 217-9 at home to West Bretton; then, when the visitors replied, Harry Glaves took 8-54 and they were all out for 134, Joseph Gott top-scoring with 58. Teriq Worrell took 6-36 when Houghton Main bowled Wickersley Old Village 2nds out for 128, but Connor Snelgrove (41) played what was to prove a crucial innings, as when Houghton replied, Charlie Harrison recorded 11.3-7-7-6 and they were all out for 71. After Parkhead had bowled Monk Bretton out for 120 at the Castle Ground, Steven Honeyman proved the match-winner with 5-49 and the visitors were all out for 104 in reply.

Division 2

Leaders Norton Oakes were at one point 71-6 away to Hatfield Town before skipper James Thompson (67) inspired a rally to 200 all out, whilst Joseph Dixon took 4-54 for Town; Joshua Cross then took 5-47 when the home side replied, and they were all out for 158. Siraj Alam (78) and Tim Shaw (54) helped Aston Hall 2nds to 217-8 away to Thorpe Hesley & High Green, who are eight points behind Oakes; Keegan Thiele (99) then led the home side to a five-wicket win. Ethan Shillito took 4-34 to help Barnsley Woolley Miners 2nds bowl Sheffield Collegiate 3rds out for 174; Ben Fielding then took 6-20 and Barnsley were all out for 130 in reply. Aamir Ashfaque took 4-19 for Norton Woodseats when they bowled Hallam 2nds out for 130 at Crimicar, and the visitors cruised to a five-wicket win in the 21st over. Harley Cushan (76) and Jack Machin (52) were the main contributors to Wakefield Thornes 2nds’ 189 all out away to Millhouses Works, then George Henderson (44) helped Works recover from 97-5 to record a three-wicket win. Teenage opener Joseph Kemp (88) and Oliver Blackburn (70) put on 156 for Elsecar 2nds’ second wicket in their 275-5 at home to Penistone, for whom Connor Smythe hit an unbeaten 101 off 132 balls in reply, but Craig Moffat took 5-34 to help restrict them to 218-9 in reply.

Division 3

Shahzad Hussain (52) and Brett Pickford (57 not out) guided leaders Coal Aston 2nds to 224-9 against fourth-placed Higham at Royd Lane, Harry Bamford taking 4-49 for the hosts; the home side were then bowled out for 186 in reply. Adam Buckle took 7-37 for second-placed Frecheville Community when they bowled bottom side Wath 2nds out for 116 at the Hobson Bowl; Lewis Wake was then 61 not out when the home side recorded a nine-wicket win. Third-placed Darfield lost ground when, having bowled Rockingham Colliery 2nds out for 125 with Saman Kursheed taking 5-31, they were all out for 112 in reply, Andy Shore taking 6-36. Iftequar Mohammed (104) and Zakir Ali (61) put on 166 for Shiregreen 2nds’ second wicket in their 246-6 against Upper Haugh 2nds at Wentworth Road; then Chris Pearson (61), skipper Gurvinder Singh (61 not out) and James Doran (72) took the home side to a five-wicket win with seven balls to spare. Worsbrough Bridge made 180-9 at home to Sprotbrough 2nds, who were 93-8 in reply before Tim Braithwaite (46) gave them hope, but he was last out at 161, Liam Levitt taking 4-42. Shahrukh Khan’s unbeaten 46 was the highlight of Sheffield United’s 210-6 against Oughtibridge War Memorial 2nds at Waterside Gardens, and Faiz Hussain then took 4-33 to help his side to a 36-run win.

Division 4

This is the most congested of all the divisions, with just 12 points separating the top six. Whiston Forge lead by two points, having got back to winning ways against lowly Doncaster Town 3rds at Blaxton. Forge were bowled out for 158, Kripal Singh taking 4-36; then Josh Cooke took 6-12 when the home side were all out for 71 in reply. Thorncliffe & Wentworth restricted Pledwick to 165-7 at Lound Side, where skipper Alex Haigh was unbeaten on 64; then Andrew Higgins made 48 when the home side completed a three-wicket win. Overnight leaders Stocksbridge lost ground when they were bowled out for 119 by Sheffield Caribbean, for whom John Ryan took 5-10; Caribbean then completing a two-wicket win. Stocksbridge and Thorncliffe are now both two points behind the leaders. Opener Karthik Subramanya made 70 in Sheffield University Staff’s 178 all out away to Ackworth 2nds, for whom Karl Buxton took 4-40; then an unbeaten 68 from Dave Harris, supported by forties from Keelan Booth and Alex Clemo took the home side to an eight-wicket win, that sees them cut the gap to fourth place to just four points. Bavasuthan Selvanayagam (60) and Suthaharan Nadesapillai (71) were in the runs in Kexborough’s 247-8 at home to Treeton 2nds, then Thava Nigathan took 6-21 when the visitors were bowled out for 47 in reply. Barnsley Woolley Miners 3rds recorded their first win of the season after Liam Margison’s 96 helped them post 199 all out against Bradfield Village Fellowship at Woolley; Ahmed Mohammadi then took 5-38 and the visitors were all out for 156 in reply.

Division 5

Leaders Wombwell Main bowled second-placed Hatfield Town 2nds out for 116 at the I-Source Stadium; then skipper Matthew Tonks (62 not not) and Elliot Mann (46) put on 114 for the first wicket to put the result beyond doubt. Vishu Ajith (69) led the way for Waverley in their 290-8 against Barnby Dun at Glass Park, whilst Muhammad Anwar took four wickets; the home side then finished on 141-9 in reply and Waverley move up to second. Penistone 2nds prevailed in a low-scoring game against Warmsworth 2nds at Queen Street; Josh Wolsey took 4-6 when the home side were dismissed for 125, then Michael Brown took 4-15 when Warmsworth were all out for 64 in reply. 86 from Charlie Wall and forties from Richard Matthewson and Charlie Machon took Sheffield Collegiate 4ths to 210-5 against Silkstone United at Abbeydale; then Nadeem Khan was amongst the wickets again with 4-37 when the visitors were all out for 156 in reply, and Collegiate remain joint-third with Penistone. Toby Singh took 4-25 for Maltby Miners Welfare when they bowled Millhouses Works 2nds out for 132; then opener Callum Fuller made 41 in Maltby’s one wicket win. Robin Frost made 47 at the top of the order in Hallam 3rds’ 167-8 against Thorpe Hesley & High Green 2nds at Sandygate, whilst Alex Sunderland took 4-46; then Josh Lee took 5-20 when the visitors were bowled out for 87 in reply.

Division 6

Leaders Sheffield Centralians were 72-6 when Adeeb Khan came to the wicket at home to Whiston Parish Church 2nds and his 74 took them up to 199 all out, whilst Shadab Ahmed took 5-41 for the visitors; Muhammed Khan then took 4-34 when Whiston were dismissed for 131 in reply. Nazam Mohammed made 73 in second-placed Parkhead 2nds’ 281-9 at home to Wadworth; opener Mark Limb (80) and Ryan Kisby (54 not out) spearheaded the visitors spirited response, and they finished just 16 short on 265-7. Opener Jacob Meehan made 85 in Fishlake’s 264-6 at home to Whitley Hall 3rds, for whom Alistair Riddle was unbeaten in their 181-8 in reply, and the home side remain ten points behind Parkhead. Akhil Neelangal (102 off 56 balls) rescued Green Moor from 118-7 and helped them post 242-9, whilst Jamie Oliver took 5-30 for visitors Scholes & Harley; Jake Sharp then recorded 6-3-8-5 and Scholes were all out for 119 in reply. Opener Khalil Khan made 78 in Sheffield United 2nds’ 198-7; then Faizan Nawaz took 4-23 when visitors Conisbrough 2nds were all out for 177 in reply, despite 55 from Oliver Cheesewright. Handsworth earned a second win of the season when after Sheffield Caribbean 2nds made 202-8 batting first; then Mahmood Hussain made an unbeaten 100 off 92 balls to take them to a seven-wicket win.

Division 7 North

Leaders Stocksbridge 2nds lost their first game of the season after being bowled out for 133 by Adwick-le-Street at Bracken Moor, Brogan Murphy taking 4-15; skipper Matthew Eades (49) then held the visitors’ innings together and they gained a six-wicket win. Second-placed Higham 2nds also lost; after Paul Garnett’s unbeaten 90 helped Bradfield Village Fellowship 2nds to 156-5 at the Sands, Mick Bocking took 6-15 and the visitors were all out for 106 in reply, despite opener Anthony White’s 64. Wombwell Main 2nds have drawn level with Higham after beating their closest challengers Rockingham Colliery 3rds at Stainborough; Chris Ferris made 67 in the visitors 212-6, then opener James Andrews made 52 for the Colliery, but they finished 17 short on 195-8. Andrew Sharp took 5-19 for Mexborough Athletic when they bowled Darfield 2nds out for 104, and Jonathan Guest made 46 in Athletic’s nine-wicket win. Houghton Main 2nds restricted Doncaster Town 2nds to 152-8; then Nathaniel Timm made 47 when they completed an eight-wicket win.

Division 7 South

Leaders Sheffield Medics returned to winning ways in a low-scoring game against The Chronicles England; Manu Satheesan took 4-35 when the leaders were all out for 119, then Bhanu Singh recorded 10-6-10-6 when Chronicles were all out for 82 in reply. Coal Aston 3rds moved up to a rather distant second after Josh Lester (5-14) and Wayne Base (4-43) helped them bowl Norton Woodseats 2nds out for 92, and they completed a five-wicket win in the 24th over. Allama Iqbal lost ground when they were bowled out for 47 at home to Brookhouse, with Abdul Rauf taking 5-12 and Jasneet Gulati 5-7; the visitors then completed a five-wicket win inside 15 overs. Pranesh Sankar (61) and Guhan Marimuthu (76 not out) added 109 for the third wicket for Sheffield Superkings in their 196-7 against Sheffield Transport, who were all out for 155 in reply. Opener Peter Hucknall (76) and skipper Jonathan Parker (95 not out) were chiefly responsible for Wickersley Old Village 3rds’ 256-4 against Sheffield Centralians 2nds at Rose Lane, and the visitors were all out for 119 in reply.

Division 8 North

Second-placed Eden Madras Parklands bowled Monk Bretton 2nds out for 97 at Parklands, Peter Rayan taking 4-16, then forties from Saravanaraj Jaganathan and Lee Chandran took them to a five-wicket win that keeps them within two points of Frickley at the top. West Bretton 2nds bowled Worsbrough Bridge 2nds out for 90, then Curtis Gates was unbeaten on 44 when they completed a nine-wicket win. Upper Haugh 3rds bowled Hallam 4ths out for 129 at Hooton Pagnell, despite a defiant 72 from Jack Lambert, whilst Callum Plummer took 5-24 for the home side, who then had to work for their two-wicket win. David Cocliff was amongst the wickets again, with 6-14 for Pledwick 2nds when they bowled Sprotbrough 3rds out for 96, and then completed a nine-wicket win in the 18th over. Barnsley Woolley Miners 4ths conceded against leaders Frickley Colliery 2nds.

Division 8 South

Amrithesh Uppumtharamel made 103 off 90 balls and Belgin Thomas 81 when leaders Waverley 2nds posted 274-6 against third-placed Sheffield Spartans at Totley; Spartans were then bowled out for 100 and Waverley’s lead at the top is now 44 points. Robin Scaife (118 not out off 123 balls) and Sam Wainwright (53 not out) helped De la Salle to 264-3 against Sheffield Collegiate 5ths at Castle Dyke, and Chris Siddall took 4-25 when Collegiate made 162-9 in reply. Adam Thorpe (60), Chris Baker (52) and Tom Bassindale (54 not out) were amongst the runs in Norton Oakes 2nds’s 240-6 at home to Handsworth 2nds, who were all out for 99 in reply, Josh Thompson taking 6-21. Sheffield Transport 2nds made 156-9 against Hallam 5ths at Birkdale; the hosts then were 63-7 in reply before skipper Edward Ide (45 not out) and Will Crofton-Martin steered them to the relative respectability of 133-7. On Sunday, second-placed Elsecar 3rds were bowled out for 84 by Thorncliffe & Wentworth 2nds, for whom Shaik Azeez took 6-24 and Henry Sykes was 43 not out when they completed an eight-wicket win.

Division 9 North

Opener Alasdair Campbell made 63 in leaders Sheffield University Staff 2nds’ 165-5 at home to Eden Madras Parklands 2nds, who were all out for 63 in reply, Siddharth Patwardhan taking 5-18. Skipper Dale Shillito (90) and Neil Hinchliffe (73 not out) added 128 for the seventh wicket to help Kexborough 2nds recover from 85-6 and post 246-7 away to Higham 3rds; and the home side were all out for 101 in reply, Hinchliffe taking 4-28 to complete a fine all-round performance. Third and fourth met at Furlong Road, where Malcolm Day took 4-26 to help Dearne dismiss Fishlake 2nds for 122; but then Jude Hubbard took 4-10 and the home side were all out for 93 in reply, despite 50 from Jack Wraith. Jordan Rouane’s unbeaten 64 enabled Mexborough Athletic 2nds to reach 161-6 at home to Wath 3rds, for whom Devlin Willis (52) and Max Hollinworth (60) then put on 126 for the first wicket to set up their six-wicket win. James Rowett (71) top-scored for Sprotbrough 4ths in their 194-6 away to Silkstone United 2nds, for whom opener Josh Dunning carried his bat for an unbeaten 72 in reply, but once his opening partner Thomas Winter departed, he received little support and his side finished on 146-9.

Division 9 South

Whiston Forge 2nds are now ten points clear at the top of the table after their win over Frecheville Community 2nds at Guilthwaite Hill; Daniel Rose made 53 in their 218-5, and they then bowled out their visitors for 145, despite 53 from opener Aadil Hassan. Tickhill 3rds made 261-6 away to second-placed Coal Aston 4ths, Jacob Mortimore making 52; then Giles Highfield took 4-20 when the home side were all out for 177 in reply. Opener Mike Rose (56) was in the runs again in Richmond’s 222-6 away to Scholes & Harley 2nds, who were all out for 70 in reply, Sainath Gundarapu taking 6-32. Oughtibridge War Memorial 3rds bowled Sheffield University Staff 3rds out for 89 at Wentworth, then Harrison Lee was 43 not out in their 92-1 in reply. De la Salle 2nds made 195-6 against Hallam 6ths at Beauchief, skipper Phil Hall making 74; in reply, opener Arnav Chowdhary got the visitors off to a good start with 55 and they completed a five-wicket win with four balls to spare. On Sunday, Mark Newbould hit 174 off 99 balls in Scholes & Harley 2nds’ 350-7, Tom Wade weighing in with 57; then James Sanaghan took 5-23 when the Staff were all out for 94 in reply.
