Big guns fire in Aire-Wharfe League

League leaders Otley emerged victorious from an extraordinary run-fest away at North Leeds, winning by just two runs after over 700 runs were scored in an epic Premier Division encounter. Josh Atkinson produced another captain's innings, compiling a magnificent 100, while George Myers blasted 85 and Ben Morley added a rapid 51 as Otley amassed 358 all out. Charlie Sutton (4-42) and Aqib Iqbal (3-44) took some expensive wickets for the hosts. Undeterred, North Leeds responded brilliantly, with Rohan Ratnalingam making a superb 108, Tom Kellar striking 74 and Harry Kellaway adding 79, but the home side fell agonisingly short on 356-7. In a match dominated by the bat, Charlie Parker claimed 3-117, Freddie Hill returned a useful 1-65 from 11 overs and Damon Reeve (2-65) held his nerve to defend 13 from the final over.

In another nail-biter, Saltaire maintained the their form with a 7-run victory at Hodson Park. The visitors' opening pair laid the foundations as Jibrael Malik hammered 101 and Farhan Hussain contributed 77 in an opening stand of 172 before Saltaire were dismissed for 250. Daniel Revis almost turned the match in Burley's favour with a superb all-round display, taking 5-34 before smashing 98, but despite valuable support from Josh Hastings (39) and William Spencer (31), Burley finished on 243-9. Muhammad Tariq's excellent return of 4-62 proved decisive as Saltaire climbed to 195 points, just 13 behind Otley.

Third-placed Bilton stayed firmly in the title picture after edging in-form Collingham by one wicket in another tense contest. Collingham totalled 214-9 with Robert Clark (34), Oliver Williams (31 not out), Toby Jacklin (29) and Jonathan Haslem (27) all making useful contributions as David Cummings claimed 4-46 and Ryan Heptinstall returned 3-43 for ths hosts. In the chase, Bilton initally looked comfortable thanks to James Ford's excellent 80 and Rob Taylor's 42, but Toby Jacklin's intervention of 5-56 sparked a collapse to 153-5. Nicholas Walker (31) and Jamie Bryant (25) then counter-attacked, only for another collapse from 207-6 to 208-9 to swing the match again. Ultimately, it was left to Heptinstall and Jamie Allen to nudge Bilton past the winning post with four balls remaining.

Steeton strengthened their position in the top four with a comfortable 6-wicket victory over Addingham. Ricky Palacio carried the Addingham innings with a fine 97, but received little support as Paul Quinlan returned outstanding figures of 5-58 and Tremaine Dowrich claimed 2-37 to bowl the visitors out for 178. Steeton paced their reply perfectly, Ben Hemsley finishing unbeaten on 57 after Dowrich (38), James Robinson (20) and Stephen Pearson (28) had laid the platform for victory.

At Queenswood Drive, Hall Park recorded a convincing 6-wicket success. Stuart Lister carried the home side with an unbeaten 106 as Kirkstall reached 246-7, supported late on by Mohammad Ibrahim's unbeaten 32. Sam Hyde and Regan Phillips struck twice each for the visitors. After the tea break, Hall Park responded emphatically through Tayden Smit, whose outstanding unbeaten 104 anchored the chase alongside Rishi Limbechaya (38) and Phillips (31), while Stephen Wilkinson added an unbeaten 41 to see the visitors home with five overs to spare.

At Arthington Lane, Pool collected a valuable victory over Tong Park Esholt to boost their survival hopes. Dave Hester continued his excellent form with 80 and Gareth Wilkinson added 48 as Tong Park Esholt were dismissed for 183, Charlie Bell taking 4-42 alongside a brace of wickets each for Olly Boggie, Sam Parsons and Matthew Parsons. Pool's chase was built around Logan Duval (43), Daniel Groom (39) and an unbeaten 45 from Bell, who completed an match-winning performance to steer the home side to 184-5 despite Nick Smith's 3-42.

The results leave Otley leading the way on 208 points, with Saltaire closing to within 13 points on 195. Bilton remain well placed on 179, while Steeton occupy fourth on 163. At the foot of the table, Pool's victory moved them to 105 points, four behind Kirkstall Educational, while Tong Park Esholt remain in tenth on 125.
