White Rose Files understands that the 24-year-old will head to Northamptonshire on a three-year deal.
The opening batter came through the club’s academy and shot to prominence with a record breaking 441 in 2022 for the club’s second XI. He then broke into the first team, making his debut in the Roses match at Old Trafford and scoring 2,649 runs in 48 first class matches.
A career best 224 against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge in 2025 was one of seven occasions on which he registered centuries for the county of his birth.
The left hander combined with Adam Lyth to be the most potent opening partnership to represent the club since Lyth lost Alex Lees as his opening partner. Bean also played in 30 List A matches, notably hammering an unbeaten 102 from 57 balls against Durham at Scarborough last year.
