Yorkshire have enjoyed a successful first block of Vitality Blast cricket, writes Ben Carter. Sitting top of the North Group in the newly restructured English domestic T20 competition, on 16 points. At the half way stage, they have won four and lost only two of their six fixtures. This gives the White Rose a four point buffer over Nottinghamshire Outlaws and Leicestershire Foxes, with both counties on twelve points and occupying second and third places in their group respectively.

The lack of a men's T20 title clearly weighed heavily on the Yorkshire hierarchy over the winter as they looked to recruit for the upcoming season. Despite Dawid Malan leaving for Gloucestershire, Moeen Ali reversed his domestic retirement to sign for Yorkshire for the 2026 season, with an option to extend for 2027. Highly experienced Australian seamer Andrew Tye was also signed and fortuitous English family links means he does not count towards the overseas quota of two.
