Richard Pyrah: “We’re on a journey towards silverware”

The trophy cabinet at Headingley was added to by the women during its Tier 2 season, when they emerged victorious in the 50 over competition in a weather-reduced match at New Road, Worcester, last September.
They’d also been on the wrong end of the result in their T20 final at Wantage Road, Northampton, earlier in the summer and after gaining those sorts of experiences, their coach wants them to kick on again now they’re back in the big time.
Speaking via an on-screen link to the Yorkshire CCC annual pre-season lunch at Headingley, from the women’s pre-season tour in South Africa, Pyrah said: “As a club like Yorkshire we’re going to have to try to win trophies. We’ve got a young team and it might take us a couple of years but that’s our main goal.”
