The County Championship, officially constituted in 1890 has been dominated by Yorkshire and Surrey. The White Rose county has won the competition 32 times, with the men from The Oval victorious on 22 occasions.
As befits these two giants of county cricket, they have produced some of the greatest cricketers the sport has ever seen.
The current Surrey club was founded in 1845 and has been at The Oval ever since. They made their first-class debut against MCC at The Oval in 1846, although teams representing the county are recorded as far back as 1709.
The county badge of Prince of Wales’s feathers has been used since 1915.
