He’s currently involved helping the women’s team, as Richard Pyrah’s squad gets back on its feet and prepares for a return to the top flight.

However, Kev loves to tell a good tale. He’s engaging when he does and I’ve asked him to recall his memories of Yorkshire’s 1987 Benson and Hedges Cup-winning campaign. Time blurs things for most of us and he admits: “I’m not recalling too much from the early rounds in the zonal stuff but certainly remember playing Hampshire at Headingley in the quarter-final.
