Second XI focus with Yash Vagadia

Time to take a look at how things have been going on and off the field for the Yorkshire CCC Second XI through the eyes of one of its players, Yash Vagadia. Yash kindly interrupted his busy schedule to pen us a few words and will be continuing to do so as the season unfolds.

Developmental... I think that’s probably the word I’d use to describe the Yorkshire 2nd XI’s season so far. This season has given an often inexperienced team opportunities to perform against some experienced first-class players.

However, we’ve also had the opportunity to dominate, with some fantastic 4-day wins against Derbyshire and Warwickshire, and some T20 wins against teams that also fielded some of their more experienced players.

Playing against experienced teams, such as Hampshire in the SECXI 4 Day Competition, and Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire in the SECT20 competition has been a great learning curve. Particularly against Leicestershire, who played most of their first team in preparation for the T20 blast, we learned a lot about our game and how T20 cricket can be won and lost in the last few overs of each innings.
