He’s new to Yorkshire but not to county cricket. Having previously played his part in helping both Worcestershire and Leicestershire earn promotion to division one of the championship, Logan van Beek now wants to help the Tykes win domestic cricket’s oldest prize.
He’s also recently arrived from his home in New Zealand, just two weeks or so after the birth of his daughter Velika and has had to leave both her and his wife, Valmai, behind while he comes to help earn their keep in a three month stint with the 33-time champions.
It’s the first time I’ve spoken to Logan and he’s an interesting and very articulate character, which is great from WRF’s point of view. “I had to speak to my wife when the offer came from Yorkshire,” he proffers.
