Seagulls squawking, storm clouds stalking the skyline, this could have been any other day in the North Yorkshire seaside town of Scarborough...but it wasn’t, because Yorkshire are in town.
Friday marked Pink and Purple Day at Scarborough Cricket Club, raising funds for St Catherine’s Hospice. However, you might have been forgiven for expecting to see a sea of blue on the faces of supporters, with no play possible until 2.10pm due to torrential overnight rain. I was unable to find any, however, as when walking around this historic ground it becomes clear that North Marine Road is about much more than just runs and wickets.
